how to prepare + maintain your glow
A beautiful spray tan starts before your appointment and continues with proper aftercare. Following these simple steps will help ensure an even application, longer-lasting color, and the most natural-looking results.
Before Your Appointment
24 Hours Before
✔ Exfoliate your skin thoroughly using a non-oil-based exfoliant or exfoliating mitt.
✔ Shave or wax at least 24 hours before your appointment whenever possible.
✔ Complete any manicures, pedicures, facials, massages, or other beauty services before your spray tan.
✔ Moisturize dry areas such as elbows, knees, ankles, hands, and feet.
Day of Your Appointment
✔ Arrive with completely clean skin.
✔ Shower several hours before your appointment.
✔ Remove all makeup, lotions, oils, deodorant, perfumes, and self-tanners.
✔ Skin without any remnants of spray tan or self tan will tan the best! Be sure to exfoliate off old tan prior to getting sprayed.
✔ Wear loose-fitting, dark clothing and loose shoes (slides, slip ons, etc.) after your appointment.
✔ Bring an umbrella and fully cover your skin if rain is expected.
What to Wear During Your Tan
Your comfort comes first. You may wear:
• A swimsuit
• Undergarments
• Disposable tanning garments (available in studio.)
• Or nothing at all - whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
To ensure proper coverage during your session, male clients must wear underwear, swim trunks, or another form of lower-body garment that fully covers the genital area.
Tan lines will reflect whatever you choose to wear during your session.
After Your Appointment
During the Development Period
Avoid the following until your first rinse:
• Showering or bathing
• Sweating or exercise
• Swimming or hot tubs
• Tight clothing or restrictive footwear
• Applying lotions, makeup, or deodorant to tanned areas
Your technician will provide specific rinse instructions based on the solution selected.
Your First Rinse
✔ Rinse with lukewarm water only unless otherwise instructed.
✔ Do not use soap, body wash, loofahs, or exfoliants during the initial rinse.
✔ Water may appear brown as the cosmetic bronzer washes away. This is completely normal.
✔ Pat your skin dry gently. Avoid rubbing.
